A seasoned Chief Estimator is invaluable because they can: 

• Sort through all the fluff to determine which jobs make the most sense to bid, and perhaps most importantly, train less seasoned estimators to do the same.
• Design and implement processes to streamline your estimating process so that the estimator(s) you already have can bid more work in the same amount of time and do it accurately.
• Understand risks and unforeseen costs.
• Work with you to create a final bid review process that you can implement to make sure accurate bids are submitted.
• Attend/lead bid review meetings, recurring weekly estimating team meetings, and pre-construction hand-off meetings.
• Negotiate with owners and GCs on your behalf.

We use your estimating software to create bids with you. If you don’t have software we can recommend the best choice to fit your business or determine the best tool at our disposal for your particular project. We have experience with HCSS HeavyBid, Bid2Win, PlanSwift, BlueBeam, Xactimate, and Excel.  

Occasionally, we may use references such as RSMeans for statistical and regional pricing adjustments.
